Medical Coverage
LaBratory Bras is a registered trademark under medical garments. Patients with extended health coverage can claim a medical brassiere after surgery. A prescription can be filled out by your physician which can be submitted for reimbursement.
Sizing Tip: Please do not rely on your previous bra band size. If you are a 34C, you will not be a 34inch band. We recommend referencing our size guide and measuring your bust and band before ordering. If you are planning an augmentation, our detailed Size Guide will incorporate your implant volume. LaBratory bras are designed specifically for breast anatomy and recovery, so sizing will differ from traditional clothing or bra brands.
For accuracy, use a soft measuring tape, or measure with a string, and then measure the string with a standard measuring tape. If you are still unsure about size, please email us at hello@labratorybras.com

FAQ about Post Operative Bras
Will my surgeon give me a surgical bra, or should I bring my own?
Some surgeons provide a bra in the operating room, others expect you to bring one or will give you a prescription and guidance. You should always ask during your preoperative visit so that you are not scrambling at the last minute. Many patients prefer to have at least two bras, even if the clinic supplies the first, so that there is always a clean one ready.
How many post operative bras do I need?
Two is the minimum, three is ideal. You will be wearing the bra almost all the time, so you want to rotate them for washing and allow the elastic to rest. This also lets you adjust fit if swelling or band size changes in the first few weeks.
Do these recommendations apply to augmentation, lift, reduction and reconstruction?
Yes, although details differ. After augmentation the focus is on implant position and capsule healing. After reduction and lift the priority is tension on scars and support for heavier tissue. After reconstruction you also need to consider expanders, flaps and radiation. In all these situations a soft, supportive, non underwire recovery bra that fits well is a common requirement.
Can I wear no bra at all after surgery once I feel better?
Most surgeons recommend continued external support for several weeks even if you feel comfortable without it, because the deep tissues are still healing. Going unsupported too early may affect your final shape or lead to more sagging over time, especially for heavier breasts.
My surgeon gave me this surgical bra after my surgery and I couldn't be more pleased! The bra is extremely comfortable and provides amazing support. My favourite quality about the bra is the way It looks, it contours my chest perfectly and its very flattering. I highly recommend purchasing this bra for day to day wear or for after surgery.

works well from post surgery as swelling changes
the adjustments work well for changing the size post surgery as swelling dissipates. There are three sizes of hooks in the front and the back, after surgery I was on the largest setting then slowly adjusted down as needed.
The cups are comfortable and provide good nipple coverage.

Wearing this 2 years after surgery feels very comfortable. In comparison to what I had to wear after my surgery, I would much rather wear this bra.

Recovery bra
A friend recommended this recovery bra to me, and I’m so glad she did. The fit is absolutely amazing, and it’s incredibly comfortable to wear—even for long periods of time. It gives great support without feeling tight or restrictive. Exactly what I was hoping for. Highly recommend!
